"This site was much more than I expected. I had no idea that it is the 3rd tallest monument in the country. The visitor center is quite nice with lots of displays providing background on Perry and his role in the War of 1812. The grounds are well kept and the monument itself is impressive. Going up to the observation deck was fun and the views of Put in Bay island were stunning. Unfortunately the monument is closing soon for major and long lasting restoration."

"The park is small, but well worth the boat ride out to see it. My kids loved the boat ride, taking the elevator up the tower, exploring the top of the monument, and completing the Junior Ranger activity book. The visitor center has a small museum with lots of information and a small store. There was also an art activity happening but we did not attend. It was a fun day, despite the rain."
