"One of my favorite lakes in the world. The stark contrast between deep blue water and dry tan desert mountains that fully surround the entire lake. Remember to buy your beach/camp/boat ramp access in advance since there are limited passes allocated per day. One of the reasons I really enjoy this lake. It’s clean and you can spend all day on the water without seeing anyone else. Pay attention to the winds. The last time we went waterskiing, the winds picked up and we were on the other end of the lake. The waves were up to 3 feet high. It’s a lake that commands respect."

If you go west coming in from Reno be prepared. About 12 miles in the road turns into dirt. Would recommend SUV or truck at that point.
Lake is huge with 360 views.
