"Chapel in the Hills is an absolutely beautiful and peaceful place to visit. The rich history of the chapel is fascinating, and the audio narration they offer is well worth listening to — it really helps you appreciate the story behind it all. The prayer walk is amazing and so thoughtfully designed, providing a quiet and reflective space surrounded by nature. They even have a scavenger hunt in the gift shop for the kids, which was such a fun bonus and kept them engaged while we explored. Overall, it’s a truly special stop that feels both inspiring and welcoming. Highly recommend taking the time to visit!"

"This was a really fantastic place to visit, and I recommend going if you are in the area. The big church chapel is apparently a replica of a Norwegian chapel. It was very beautiful to visit and look at. There is also a mini museum not far from the chapel and a really cool gift shop with Norwegian books and wooden nativities. I bought one of the nativities, as I learned someone had carved them and made them on their own. I do feel the history could be better explained. I just wish there was more of a tour that explained the history in depth. There is an audio tour in the chapel and signs that explain the history, but it would be nice to have a guide to explain all the pieces of the puzzles in the place. We didn't have a long time here, nor could you spend a long time here, but I would definitely recommend seeing this and asking about the history because not all the questions and sites are fully explained."

"This church is one of those hidden gems that you'd never just stumble upon. An exact replica of a Norwegian kirke built in the 1100's, it is a beautiful wooden work of art in addition to being a house of worship. An audio tape orients you to the church and grounds, which you can explore at your leisure. The gift shop and small museum are worth a look. There are also two short paths to walk near the church. Enjoy the quiet stillness of this magnificent little church in the hills near Rapid City."
