What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Wall Drug is a quintessential roadside attraction, lauded for its unique, sprawling collection of shops, quirky displays like the jackalope, and classic free ice water. Visitors appreciate the variety, photo opportunities, and the nostalgic charm, though some find it a bit of a tourist trap with average food. It's a must-stop for many on a South Dakota road trip.
"Must see road trip stop.
A little or lot of pretty much everything.
Plenty of fun photo opportunities and areas to stretch legs from long drives.
Food is okay but not the reason for stop. Lines move very fast and organized chaos.
I'd save room for Ice cream or donuts (cake like texture)"

"You have seen the signs, and you’re wondering if it’s worth the stop; and the answer is yes and no. It’s definitely a tourist trap, but the kids will think it’s awesome. The free ice water is more like tap water, there are a ton of souvenirs of all kinds, and even some reasonably priced t-shirts. The donuts are expensive; I posted a picture with the prices as of August 2025. They are big and rather tasty, but I wasn’t impressed with the icing. We were staying in Wall in order to visit the Badlands, so the drug store was nice to visit while in town."
Sharon Miller
"This rest stop on the way to Badlands National Park is advertised numerous times on I-90. They offer free iced water, but the cups are small and not cold enough, and the dispenser is a bit odd. We had dinner there, and the prices were reasonable. They also offer coffee, but the cups are small. The mall is large and sells various items, but it's cluttered. This mall supports the economy of the town of Wall. This time in Wall, many motorcycle enthusiasts participated in the 2025 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally."
