"This is such a fantastic almost magical place to be in. Be aware if you have bad knees or even a bad back this could be hard to overcome. This involves a lot of walking and stairs, buy your tickets in advance and follow the direction from the people that work in the shop.
A quick ferry ride across lake shasta, lessons on history, science, nature and a sprinkle of magic happens here..our tour guide did a fantastic job explaining everything and showing us around. We even got to see two bats leaving the cave from the "great hall".

"Wow... this was well worth the ticket of $35. It's a two hour tour, 10 minutes on a boat across Shasta Lake, 15 minute bus ride up to the cavern entrance, about an hour in the caverns and then back to the bus and boat. There are about 600 steps up and down combined. Constant temp of 58° inside the cavern year around. Very little waiting. Tours are about every 1/2 hour"
