"Stayed here for 3 nights during the winter. (Sand County rentals manages it.) Awesome architecture. No need to leave if you bring food to make. Small kitchen and bathroom, but that's not why people stay here. Beautiful site along the water, gorgeous during the winter. Bring your own birdseed, aa they only provided sunflower seeds. It was below zero the whole time, so using the fireplace made it colder at night, but excellent during the daytime. Consider packing puzzles, games, and your reading material. If you do go into town, check out Del Bar for an upscale dinner. Unique building provides a unique experience.

"Tours only available on Sundays starting at 1pm, arrive early parking area fills quickly!! Short walk to the cottage. We had the 2nd tour of the day in early October it is heavily shaded so if temps are less than 50°F definitely bring long sleeves. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the house and hiccups that occured while bringing it back to originally designed appearance."
