What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Hinsdale Rhododendron Garden for its stunning collection of rhododendrons in a wide array of colors, especially during the spring and summer bloom. The historic homestead grounds add a unique charm. However, some reviewers note that vehicle access is restricted and the garden has experienced periods of neglect, suggesting checking current conditions before visiting.
"The entrance to this place was blocked, restricting vehicle access. I parked elsewhere and walked in, only to find that the garden was indeed there—but completely neglected. Until there’s an official notice about its reopening, I don’t think it’s worth visiting on purpose.
That said, the view is fairly decent, so if it’s properly maintained in the future, it could be a place worth checking out."

"Absolutely beautiful ❤️ Apparently they don't want you parking near the gate. So parking on the shoulder of the road is a must, or wait till they have a shuttle on certain days."

"Beautiful garden left over from a long lost mansion on the umpquah river. A large variety of trees, but predominately rhododendrons of every conceivable color blooming starting in the spring until mid to late summer. Only a few official open days every year with tours, but accessible on foot of you park across the street. Parking in the driveway at the locked gate will get you a ticket and possibly towed. Best toured off season with a local so you don't miss anything."
