What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Circus Circus Reno offers a budget-friendly, family-oriented casino experience with a standout arcade and free circus shows. While some guests find the hotel dated and note potential issues with check-in and maintenance, the affordable pricing and kid-friendly attractions make it a popular choice for value-conscious travelers and families.
"Our room was very old-feeling, nothing like what is advertised. Old carpet, grandma decor, and we could hear everyone talking through the locked door in the next room. It's redeeming quality was the nice big bathroom and shower. They asked us if we'd Ike house-keeping. We said yes but no one came so we had to go to the lobby to get more towels and coffee. My kids enjoyed the arcade. We saw one of the acts on stage which was cute but also very short. Overall, the hotel just felt aged and mediocre. However, the price was right if you're on a budget and looking for someplace to stay in downtown Reno."

"Checking in was honestly the roughest part of our stay. We arrived around midnight on a Friday, and it took nearly two hours just to get through the line. From what I could tell, the front desk was very understaffed, so if you’re planning to arrive late, expect a wait. Parking is also a bit of a maze. I’d recommend figuring out where you want to park before starting the check-in process, otherwise it can get frustrating.
That being said, there are definitely highlights. The kids’ gaming and midway area is fantastic, it’s probably one of the best features of the property and makes this a fun place for families. The casino itself is nothing extraordinary compared to other Reno or Vegas spots, but they do offer a solid variety of slot machines, which kept things entertaining.
I was pleasantly surprised by the room. It was clean, much larger than expected, and the beds were extremely comfortable (perfect for a quick stay). The inside of the property has that classic Vegas feel, and there are plenty of food options at reasonable prices. The coffee shop in particular had a nice selection of breakfast and lunch items without the inflated resort pricing, which was a huge plus. The staff we interacted with in the restaurants were friendly and helpful, which made the dining experience enjoyable.
Overall, Circus Circus has its pros and cons. The check-in process and parking situation could definitely use improvement, but the clean and spacious rooms, kid-friendly entertainment, and affordable dining options make it a good choice for families or anyone looking for a budget-friendly Vegas-style atmosphere in Reno."

"We stayed one night at Circus Circus Reno with our big family, including our nieces & nephews. It's definitely budget and family friendly. The front desk was welcoming, and early check in was available for a $30 fee. We were able to check in at 9:30am, which was great. The arcade and food court were perfect for the kids and made the stay convenient.
That said, the hotel is very old. Even with updated rooms, everything felt dated and a bit grimy, especially the hallways and casino. The room was clean but bare bones. There were only two pillows per bed and minimal amenities. So charging the $40 resort fee seemed excessive for what you got. And because it's the most affordable of the three connected hotels, it was extremely crowded. We waited 15-20 minutes just for the elevator.
It worked for a quick family trip, but if it were just my husband and me, we'd stay somewhere nicer."
