Reviews Summary

Visitors find Fort Boonesborough State Park to be a very cool and interesting historical site, particularly appreciating the knowledgeable living historians and the reconstructed fort. However, some reviewers noted that certain exhibits were closed, and the park has experienced significant damage and closures due to recent flooding, requiring repairs.

"For starters, the fort is not in the State Park and is farther up the highway. Took me awhile to realize where it was based on Google Maps. The fort itself was super fun! Lots to see and I appreciated all of the staff to explain the skills to keep the fort going. Each cabin had folks eager to explain how to work a looming machine and the way that surveyors mapped the land. All very interesting stuff. Took an hour or so and was time well spent!"

David A.

"It's been a while since we have been to the fort, and decided to pay it a visit. The exhibits were very interesting and the reenactors were very knowledgeable. Despite the heat, there were areas available to cool off. An interesting bit of American history."

Lee Ball

"At this time is closed due to flooding. But is great to see named after Daniel Boone. Has 26 cabins if I counted them right. And in the corner of the fort it is two stories high with lookouts. You can hike short trails fish and camp. It is $8.00 adults and $6.00 children."
