"It's been a while since we have been to the fort, and decided to pay it a visit. The exhibits were very interesting and the reenactors were very knowledgeable. Despite the heat, there were areas available to cool off. An interesting bit of American history."
Lee Ball
"At this time is closed due to flooding. But is great to see named after Daniel Boone. Has 26 cabins if I counted them right. And in the corner of the fort it is two stories high with lookouts. You can hike short trails fish and camp. It is $8.00 adults and $6.00 children."
Wayne Little
"Fort was closed and most of the Park was closed and in need of serious repairs. We were able to see where Daniel Boone built cabins to start the settlement and later a small stone fort.
Response to Owner's reply. We visited at 1300 on a Saturday. We estimated there were 10-cars parked in the lot in front of the fort. The fort gates were closed as was the small door to the left. We spoke to one couple who said they had toured the fort when the gate was open but were not sure why the gates were now closed. We did see someone who appeared to work at the Park when we drove to the other section and he confirmed the Fort should be opened. He drove over and came back to confirm the gate was closed but he was unsure why. It was still a nice stop but we had some miles to go."
