Visitors rave about the unique experience of walking behind the 'waterfall' at Horseshoe Dam, especially when water is released. The scenic beauty and remote, peaceful atmosphere are major draws. However, the challenging, unpaved road leading to the dam is a significant consideration, with many recommending a high-clearance vehicle.
"Make sure to check the SRP lake level website if you wish to see the waterfall. I took my Jeep and traveled Telegraph line trail (MT 42) that ends approximately. 5 miles from the dam. Great day trip!"

"Great day at the dam. It's a very short hike to get to it. The water flow was low but still beautiful!! It's a long drive in but worth the view. We went to Horseshoe Reservoir as well and then Sear Key so it made the trip worth while. This is a beautiful area and there is a lot of trailheads along the road. We found some crested Saguaros along the way so keep your eyes open!!"
Bonnie Kositzke
"So fun to go and see. Last 8 miles of the road is not paved. May not be good for low riding cars to attempt depending on the road conditions. Plenty of parking and places to walk at. So fun walking behind the falls. Very pretty. Got there just as the sun was setting. When dark, you can see many stars in the sky!"
