"We took the Rockland-Vinalhaven ferry round trip as a day trip. It was terrific! Great views of the Breakwater lighthouse and Owl’s Head lighthouse. Vinalhaven is a short 10 minute walk from the ferry terminal. There were a couple of good choices of restaurants for lunch and a couple of cute shops. Great day trip!"

"Nice boat ride in the fog. Got a car and the crew (theirs and ours) all safely to the island and back. Beautiful views as the fog rolled in."
Kevin Markman
"Two things to note!
1. It’s $12 for the day to park in the Ferry parking lot
2. Be there early! The ferry leaves right on time if not before posted time. The last ferry of the day out of the Vinalhaven port left about 10 minutes earlier than it was supposed to. So get there early!
Beautiful ride over to Vinalhaven."
