The Sacramento Southern Railroad is a 50 minute excursion train ride from The California State Railroad Museum located in Old Sacramento, Sacramento California.
This morning I caught up with the train shortly after it pulled out of the station and it was traveling near the Embassy Suites Hotel along the Sacramento River.
The route takes you along the Sacramento River, you can sit in an open car or and enclosed car, the views of the river and wildlife are beautiful.

"This was a lot of fun. The only thing I wish this tour could have included was more of a submersive train ride like going around the City or something. Overall it was good, but the ride was pretty much in a straight line. The kids loved it though and that's what counts."
