What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitor experiences at Cascades Gateway Park are varied. Some praise its beauty, abundant wildlife, and disc golf course, noting recent improvements. However, others report issues with trash, graffiti, and a visible homeless population, suggesting inconsistent maintenance.
"Homeless have destroyed this park sadly, I love the fenced in dog park, but the gates are all broken and there's always trash and cigarette butts in the dirt inside the dog area. The parking area is trashed. The water is gross. I don't go past the dog park, so I have no comment on the playground. It used to be nice, but haven't been back by it in years"

"This park has clearly been abandoned by the city- there's trash everywhere, weeds growing out of the pavement and not a square inch that isn't covered in graffiti. There was no signage that it was closed to pedestrians at the vehicle gate, so we thought it was only closed to vehicles- not uncommon for city parks where vehicle gates are only for maintenance access. We made the mistake of trying to go to the playground and were presented with an apocalyptic scene that made us high-tail it out of there. No maintenance is happening around there. There were people fishing in the pond and eating lunch over by the dog park. People were drying their clothes on the dog park fence. It seems that locals know to stop at the pond. It's a shame because we had a family reunion at this park about 15 years ago and it was in decent condition."

"This park is beautiful. I grew up coming here and haven't been able to come since it was closed during the pandemic. I love seeing how clean and improved it looks. The wild life is enjoying this change. They also have a dog park at the entrance. They have a golf course too. I highly recommend it."
