Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Oregon Capitol Mall for its stunning cherry blossoms in spring and the impressive architecture of the State Capitol building. The knowledgeable staff and guided tours are frequently highlighted as positive aspects, offering great insights into Oregon's history and government. However, ongoing construction can sometimes limit access, and the 'Gold Man' statue's presence atop the dome has been a point of discussion due to renovations.

"⭐️⭐️ The only way into the Capitol is from the south side as the north side is inaccessible. See photos for reference.

My intent was to go the Secretary of State building but since I’m directionally challenged I went to the Capitol first but I’m not disappointed! It was quite fascinating to see all the chaos up close! 😆

The Oregon State Capitol is still under major construction as of 10/9/2025. However, you are able to now walk through part of the main floor. Obviously there is security when you first enter the Capitol and you go thru metal the detector and there is now an exit on the east side that takes you outside down a sidewalk through the 🚧 and into the courtyard. The courtyard is beautiful and lush and green. The gold man doesn’t appear to be atop of the Capitol still but there IS something there covered up it looks like…. I don’t know what exactly but, I’m sure we’re all going to be surprised once it’s unveiled. I enjoyed my quick visit"

"The staff at the info desk and the tour guide were exceptional. Incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Even though they have reopened for tours, there's still a lot of construction going on. I'd love to go back someday when the gold man is back!"

"It is a beautiful place deserving zero emission vehicle infrastructure such as hydrogen fueling stations, which can charge fuel cell cars in 5 min for 400 mile driving range without straining the grid. #hydrogen #fuelcell"
