What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reviews for the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo are mixed. While many praise the exciting rodeo performances and the quality of the livestock shows, some attendees have expressed significant dissatisfaction with the carnival games and the cleanliness of the livestock barns, citing strong ammonia odors and poorly maintained facilities. Customer service experiences have also been a point of contention for some.
"2025 was our 3rd year attending the Barrow show. I have to be brutally honest. The judge was awesome with the kids and did a very good job.
Thatโs the highlight. The remainder of the show was absolutely horrid! When we arrived and entered the barn, the ammonia smell was so bad, it literally would make your eyes burn. Why the smell? They held the gilt show prior to the barrow show and every pen had layers upon layers of completely urine soaked shavings. They either did not plan ahead or, I think, just did not care that their facility was so nasty. We had to clean out the pens before we could unload our pigs. It is ridiculous that a major livestock show is operated in this manner. They have zero pride in that show. Additionally, they did not even take the time to renumber the pens so folks could actually read them. I know thatโs a small thing but not doing something so simple just shows the continues to have no pride. It is a shame that for 3 days, our animals had to breath the ammonia. They need to get it together!!!! Very poor operations."

"Genuinely the worst place Iโve ever been to in my life. The games are scams, they charge 10 credits each, which means if you were to get a $50 wristband, that means you would have 48 credits, for 4 GAMES. THIS PLACE IS A WASTE OF SPACE. THE ONLY THING THAT WAS WORTH IT WAS THE OREOS."

"Homegirl answered the phone and I was asking about the carnival. She said they only had the livestock show. So I proceeded to ask her about the livestock show because I never heard of a livestock show and wanted to know what it was about. But then she was being rude and instead of explaining what a livestock show was, she just repeated herself and told me it was a livestock show like I was supposed to know what it meant just by her saying the name. So after that I realized it was pointless to ask her about the livestock show because she didn't want to be helpful. I then proceeded to tell her to have a good day, and instead of being polite and saying something back, she just hung up on me. L customer service"
