What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Mitchell Lake Audubon Center for its immersive natural beauty and abundant wildlife, particularly birds. The accessible trails and native plantings are highlights, offering a peaceful escape. However, the intense Texas heat and occasional drought conditions can impact the experience, and proximity to a shooting range has been noted as a disturbance by some.
"This place is wonderful. It feels like you’re in a different world because of how fast the atmosphere changes as soon as you drive into the property, you instantly feel the connection with nature. There is a lot to observe. There is alt of different plants and animals. You can walk around or drive around in your vehicle to get around. And apparently they have binoculars for rent for a small fee. I went on a day it was drizzling and cloudy and it was perfect to avoid the Texas heat."
