What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Prospect Park is widely praised as a beautiful and expansive urban oasis, offering a welcome escape with its diverse landscapes, from wooded trails to open meadows. Visitors appreciate its natural beauty, the vibrant Greenmarket, and the opportunities for recreation and relaxation. However, some find the proximity to highways and occasional barking dogs detract from the tranquility.
"This park is mainly for hiking, they do have areas with benches to relax and what looks like small amphitheater. The trails also connects to Purgatory Creek Natural Area. One of the minor drawbacks I found here is the trails are right next to a busy highway and the cars zooming by is definitely heard. One other minor annoyance was residential houses are with in view of some of the trails and some have dogs that are constantly barking nonstop. So if you want tranquility or peace and quiet this park may not be for you. The trails are nice and I did enjoy hiking here. This park also has good signage and maps. I did not see any wildlife here (mammals) but I did see bugs and butterflies."

"Very natural & quiet. Grassy trails, lots of cactus & some large oak trees with benches."
