Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Spring Lake Natural Area for its well-kept, shaded trails and low visitor traffic, making it a peaceful local escape. The varied terrain offers a good hiking and running experience, though some note the presence of unmarked side trails and the need for caution on slippery, rocky paths after rain. Seasonal closures for bird nesting are also a point of awareness for visitors.

"Well kept trails, predominantly shaded, very little traffic (this Sunday afternoon, at least). We got in 5 miles and probably saw fewer than 15 other folks and 3 or 4 dogs. Trails are mostly pretty easy, with some moderate hills here and there. Today was wet from last night’s rain, so it was a bit slippery in patches, especially with exposed limestone. All in all, great local trail!"

Randy Rodgers

"Very beautiful. Trails are heavily covered by tree shade"

Robin Smither

"These are some really cool trails. Highly recommend, it's a little over 4 miles long but it's an easy hike. Lots of side trails not marked as official paths. So pay attention if you are trying to keep it short and sweet."
