What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Ramon Lucio Park for its beautiful river access and well-maintained sports fields. The scenic trails and family-friendly amenities like the playground and picnic areas are also highlights. Some note that parking can be challenging during baseball season and that certain river areas are deep, requiring caution.
"Great clean and access to the San Marcos River! There is a nice roofed pavilion with several picnic tables. Access to the river where it’s deep but there’s stairsteps. Bring life jackets for little ones because it is deep.
It’s beautiful. We saw a deer there. If you walk across the bridge down across the path and all the way down to the left you will be on the other side of the river (from the bridge) where it’s more shallow. However it gets a little muddy there."

"Good for parking when you want to cruise the river trail on wheels to the end and back again. easy access to river with a walking bridge to jump off of if you dare.
Baseball season can be tough parking though."

"Literally just off of I35, it’s easy to get to and there’s plenty of parking. It seems everyone in the baseball community is getting used to turf fields, which as we know provides pretty true rolls and hops for our defenses.
Here at Ramon Park, it’s all grass and dirt infields. Being skeptical about it, I was pleasantly surprised to see how well manicured the fields were. Chalk lined nicely, grass trimmed and to top it off, dirt dragged between every game.
It’s a small venue, parks are shorter distance (maybe 190-200) so at 12U, there were a lot of bombs. However, it made base running more important.
Friendly snack bar service with plenty to chose from as well as not running out of your favorite foods and snacks.
It’s a nice venue so don’t be upset if you have to travel there, you just might like it!"
