What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Cavallo Point is praised for its stunning Golden Gate Bridge views, excellent spa amenities, and delicious farm-to-table dining, making it a beautiful and relaxing escape. While the staff are generally warm, some guests have experienced communication and operational inconsistencies. Room updates and minor maintenance issues are occasionally noted, but the pet-friendly policy and prime location are significant draws.
"Went for a spa day and the setting is really beautiful. The spa is relatively small but very peaceful. They have an outdoor pool that is somewhat warm but on a 65 degree day, even while sunny, the pool was still a bit too cold to enjoy. They have outdoor dining at the spa and the salmon salad was really yummy and they accommodate vegan and gluten free diets. The portions are pretty large. Overall, we had a nice time. The services were nice. Iβll likely try another local spa option before returning."

"Both the hotel and the spa have mind-bogglingly poor communications. Expect lots of unreturned calls, lost or ignored email replies, or numerous missed calls without a voicemail or email to indicate which department is trying to reach you. In general, there are notable incongruities between expectations and reality of service and experience. Every staff member is very warm and pleasant, and you feel heard and cared for when you talk to them, but then thereβs no action to deliver what you talked about. Your conversations (often painstakingly long and detailed on the phone; set aside much more than 10-25 minutes each time you need to chat with these folks in advance, though 10-15 tends to suffice at the front desk once youβre on property) and emails seem to vanish into thin air, with notes, requests, and arrangements not actually getting made. Itβs like they know what a resort is supposed to look like and offer on the outside, but thereβs no operation to actually deliver it. Itβs comical, but itβs also very frustrating.
The location is lovely. Both the spa and the food program meet, but definitely donβt exceed, expectations for this price point. The spa is a perfectly pleasant place to spend a day - it wonβt end up on your lifetime favorites list, but it absolutely meets the mark for a relaxing environment. Like others have noted, while thereβs charm in an historic property, some updates and basic operational changes (e.g., guest rooms being far too hot in winter unless your window was open or broken; yoga class held in a room that hadnβt had the heat turned on so it was under 60Β° F; erratic housekeeping) would help. The complimentary daily happy hour and morning coffee are nice touches."

"My husband and I visited the Cavallo Point for a weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary. Our entire experience was exceptional! From the room to the amenities, dining, and staff, everything was great. The entire hotel staff, including the restaurant staff, was so kind and genuine.
We ate at both restaurants, which were great. We used the bikes and visited the spa. All wonderful additions to the beautiful property.
We are already planning our next visit and bringing our pup with us!"
