Visitors rave about Skidaway Island State Park's beautiful, nature-filled trails and abundant wildlife, often describing it as a hidden gem near Savannah. The park's amenities, including clean facilities and friendly staff, are frequently praised, making it a great base for exploring the coast. However, some note that certain campsites can be unlevel, and bug spray is a necessity.
"The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly with the booking process and the campsites are tucked into the woods and are very cozy. The hiking trails are beautiful, especially early in the morning and we would happily stay again. Stayed in a class B 21 foot camper van."

"The premium sites were the most level. They were considered premium because they had 50 amp service and sewer hookups. Our first night we were scheduled to be in site 77 which was so unlevel we absolutely could not set up with our 30 foot travel trailer. We moved to site one and stayed five more nights. They have nice laundry rooms and showers throughout the park. The Ranger station/store/education center is very new and nice."
Steve Thomson
"What a neat park! We walked to the observation deck (which was closed) and saw an alligator and some turtles! The playground was a hit and they have multiple ones throughout the park. Wonderful park!"
