I'm hoping someone can help me narrow down my options. Mid-February I'm going to be flying from Northwest Iowa to Detroit. I'm going to need to make a fuel stop and we don't need to be in Detroit until late morning, so I'm thinking about doing an overnight stop somewhere…

Chicago Skyline + Midwest Airport Recommendations
Hey! I got my PPL recently and plan to do the Chicago skyline tour soon. I'm quite comfortable talking to ATC (trained out of Class C and always take flight following) and have reviewed the VFR flyway chart to stay out of the bravo. I plan to fly north-south, land at KGYY so I…

In need of advice from Chicago folks.
So I've been trying to join a school for PPL, and I am already done with a discovery flight and loved the experience. The problem is the two schools (Blue Skies and FlyThere) that I want to join are packed and have put me on a waitlist for the past two months. I've even offered…

"This Airport provides great utility for the transportation and recreation and entertainment for many people in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. The restaurant is outstanding and I would rather go there than any other restaurant in Chicago or Schaumburg."

"Pilot Pete's Restaurant - Family-friendly, good food and service. You get what you pay for. You can pass on the beer if you wish ( $4.75 for a bottle of Coors Light) and others , but all things being equal , I recommend. Top notch place. 👌 plenty of parking. Eat well, my friends !"
Frank R. Grace (USAF1969)
"If you are going to raise prices, then don't cut portion sizes. I love this place, but I haven't been in a while. My usual salad is now $20. And the portion is so much smaller... noticeably smaller. It used to be a very impressive salad, but now it's a bit larger than a dinner salad nestled in a huge bowl just filling the inside, leaving a huge empty rim. Disappointing for the cost!"
