South Sister -- First Climb

South Sister in mid-July 2026 will be my first time climbing a mountain. Besides the standard training and gear lists I've already found online for climbing South Sister, anything unexpected I should know about? I can't seem to scope out whether it'll be snowy/icy at the top…

First attempt at the Native American "3 Sisters", supposedly beans grow up the corn, squash protects them.

Your corn is WAY too close together. Won't finish an ear at that density. Still have time to thin it out though. I wouldn't keep more than 3 or 4 of those stalks and that may be too many.

🐶 Pet-Friendly Browsing

Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome in many shops, making it a great outing for pet owners.

🎁 Gift Galore

Plenty of unique gifts and souvenirs available. Perfect for finding something special for loved ones.

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the delicious homemade fudge and the charming atmosphere of Cascade Avenue. The friendly staff and unique gift selection are also frequently highlighted as positives. While parking can sometimes be a challenge, the overall experience is highly rated.

"Stopped by, sampled and bought some divine fudge! If you’re craving for something sweet I would recommend this place."

Rod Estrabo

"Sisters Cascade of Gifts is right on the Main Street running through Sisters, OR.

There is parking directly in front of it and near the shop but it is a fairly busy street so it might be easier to park off of a side street.

It offers a nice selection of gifts for you or for family and friends.

But by far the home made Fudge is something to make the trip for! We’ve had it a few times now and WOW, it certainly rocks. My new favorite is crunchy peanut butter chocolate.

Dogs are allowed in the store on short leashes. And everybody in the store is very friendly and helpful."

Peter Carlesimo
