Trail Difficulty & Dust

While 'green' trails are marked, expect them to be more challenging than elsewhere. The extensive park can get extremely dusty, especially during events. Consider a dust mask for camping areas.

Event vs. Regular Visit

Events like Redneck Rave can lead to overselling and loud, late-night music. For a more relaxed experience, plan a visit on a non-event weekend to enjoy the extensive, less crowded trails.

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Burning Rock Off-Road Park for its extensive, uncrowded trails and friendly staff, offering a top-notch riding experience for dirt bikes, ATVs, and side-by-sides. Some note that 'green' trails are more challenging than expected and that event camping can be very dusty with late-night noise. The park's connection to other trail systems is a major plus for avid riders.

"The people here were kind and the park is amazing. Its not crowded and you do not have to wear helmets if you are in a vehicle (Jeep/Landrover). We will be back for a longer trip. We had the best time!"

monica schoenfield

"Stayed at Burning Rock for Redneck Rave 2025.
The trails were more challenging overall. The “easy” trails here are more like Medium trails elsewhere (Tecumseh, Renegade Ridge, Mines&Meadows). The camping area is right against the roads so it’s EXTREMELY dusty. You’ll want a dust mask for sure.

The event “redneck rave” sucked. They oversold the camping spots and the people running the event just put themselves in the sold hookup spots and made up for it by giving VIP passes. Also, they played LOUD music until 6am. There was no quiet time.

I would consider coming back to these trails on a non-busy weekend, but I’ll never come back to an event where the host encourages girls to come up on stage to “scissor” for the crowd. If I come back again and have a better experience I’ll update my three stars."

"Absolutely the best trails not sure why anyone would go to Hatfield. It’s not crowded. You rarely even meet anyone on the trails thisplace is so extensive. Their trails connect to the outlaw and Hatfield trails you can ride as far as you want. The staff is helpful and friendly just a top notch place. Great place to ride a dirtbike ATV or side-by-side."
