Visitors are captivated by the live glassblowing demonstrations, the diverse art on display, and the welcoming atmosphere. The cafe also receives high marks for its delicious, locally-sourced food. "Can I put more than 5 stars?
I had the amazing opportunity to visit Starworks, and first of all, I didn’t even know where Star, North Carolina was. I had never heard of Starworks before, but while visiting Uwharrie Mercantile nearby, the owners recommended I check it out. From the moment I drove up, I was overwhelmed in the best way. The building, the layout, the town—it all felt like discovering a hidden gem. It’s one of those places that makes you say, “How does something this incredible exist here?”
I had lunch there and got the vegetable tamales with cheese and rice from Eden’s Garden. They were seriously delicious. I’d never had tamales with broccoli in them before, and they were packed with flavor. I was genuinely impressed. The food was fresh, and the service was warm and welcoming. You could tell everyone there believes in what they’re doing.
The space itself is just stunning. Art everywhere. Glassblowing in action. Pottery. Kilns. Creative energy in every corner. Even the inspirational quotes throughout the building added something special. It’s one of those places where you walk in and just instantly feel more inspired and alive.
Talking with the staff and learning more about the mission of Starworks made me even more excited. This place has already come so far, but it’s clear there’s even more growth ahead—and not just for Star, but for all of Central North Carolina and beyond. Honestly, this place could be a creative hub for the entire East Coast.
I will absolutely be back. I’ll be bringing friends, groups, anyone I can convince to come. If you’re in the arts, or even if you’re just a curious traveler or someone who loves good food and beautiful spaces, you’ve got to go. Starworks is inspiring, energizing, and just flat-out amazing. Don’t miss it."
