Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Stone Harbor Bird Sanctuary for its serene atmosphere and well-maintained walking paths, calling it a 'hidden gem' for quiet contemplation. However, some find the wildlife viewing opportunities limited and suggest improvements like elevated platforms for better observation.

"A very quiet serene place. Wonderful maintained, short walking paths. A hidden gem for a quiet place to read a book or take in sight and sounds.

A little confusing on the entrance...has two side...the building on one side of the block where one can see the birds in the marsh area and on the other side of the block the walking wooded paths with plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the sight of the small land animals and the sounds of birds and other animals in the woods... can not see birds from the wooded side...

I would say about a 30 to 45 minute vist unless reading a good book."

Dana Carter

"This is a waste of time. Why have a preserve/park with barely any trails or any platforms to actually see the wildlife? Just make this a wildlife preservation area if that is the aim. The trails are nice but a joke, there are more sponsored benches than places to actually observe anything. The landscaping is beautiful in the common areas but to me... make up your mind, either have a preserve with no access or something better to balance human traffic and the animals (elevated platforms perhaps?). Every trail is a short dead end. Again, I am all for preserving an area but have some means for people to enjoy the wildlife without impinging on said wildlife. I saw more birds and wildlife across the street at the 114 st fishing area (seriously). An elevated platform on each corner would elevate this (pun intended) this place."

David Koblentz

"Easy to access, pristine, lots of benches, well-maintained, easy to find parking. I went over the course of a 5-day stretch on weekdays and only ran into other people a couple times."
