What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the park's free admission and the educational value of its historical sites, particularly the Sauer-Beckmann farm and the LBJ Ranch. The opportunity to see Texas longhorns and bison is a frequent highlight. Some visitors express disappointment if the Texas White House is closed for renovations, but generally find the rangers helpful and the grounds well-maintained.
"The park's historical significance and beauty are truly remarkable. During my visit, I appreciated the opportunity to walk through the grounds and learn about our former president. I plan to return in the spring to admire the lovely flowers. The reconstruction of Former President Johnson's childhood home is a testament to the preservation of Texas history, allowing the public to appreciate this piece of history. I am excited about visiting the rebuilt 'Texas White House' in the future. Unfortunately, the weather conditions prevented me from seeing any bison, but I understand their need to hide during this crazy weather."

"You can easily spend at least half a day or more exploring the park. The ranch is huge and has lots to see as well as some walking trails. If you like bike riding you can bring a bike and helmet to go on a bike tour in the morning. LBJ's childhood home is in town about 14 miles away and they do tours every couple of hours. There are also movies you can watch in the visitors center. Plenty of places to sit and clean bathrooms are all around the park. Don't forget to bring your National Park passport so you can get it stamped. The Texas White House is currently closed for construction."

"Well first of disappointed in they are working on the Texas White House. But you can still drive the ranch and see a lot. If I could make a suggestion to the site. Why couldn't use a short distance AM radio station broad cast be available to listen to and tell about the seens circumstance. In could play and explain as you moved thru the park. The National Park ranger we met at the school, was a delight to talk to."
