What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Sturgis Buffalo Chip offers an electrifying atmosphere for live music and motorcycle enthusiasts, with many praising the incredible energy and top-tier performances. However, some visitors have encountered issues with customer service and accessibility, and the cost of food and drinks is noted as being high.
"I went here for the Five Finger Death Punch Concert and I had a good time. It was my first time seeing the band and going to the Chip. I got the $120 general admission tickets and after researching and studying the map I brought in a chair and figured out parking at the east gate area. It was a good crowd but not too crazy. Folks at the entrance were great about security and directing me where to go to get to the stage area. It was cool to see the bikes. I like that people could bring in their bikes and revved them up as a form of applause. Citizen soldier was a nice band as an opener and had good vibes. Food and drink expensive yes but it’s part of a going to a concert so whatever. Audio and music for the band was good and I could hear Ivan Moody singing just fine. Although lots of weird stage smoke. I had a good time singing and head banging away.
Band was supposed to be done at 11:30 but went on until 12. I had no issues with that cause I was driving and I’m a huge fan of the band, but some people had to leave early to catch the shuttles at 12.
Did not camp here so can’t comment on that.
Traffic out after the concert can be hectic and chaotic but they had people out trying to direct the waves of traffic in the parking lot which is appreciated. Expect wait times of 30+ minutes.
Honestly I’d come again sometime, it was good time and I’m glad I got to see Ivan Moody."

"The absolute best place to go and have fun if you love live music. It doesn't get any better watching live music with thousands of people who love motorcycles. I've been going there for years now and it's my favorite place to go while at the rally hands down. I've never had one problem there either. If you haven't been I recommend going!!!"

"If you haven't been, it's a great place for live entertainment during the Sturgis motorcycle rally. It's a huge enclosed area with a main stage and a couple of smaller stages. Lots of vendors selling good food. Several little shops selling mostly t-shirts, leather jackets and motorcycle stuff. Kind of pricey, but that's to be expected at any event like this. Multiple bars. A tattoo shop. Free parking close to the entrance. When you buy a concert ticket, you are paying for the whole day as well as camping if you choose to. If you don't want to deal with the traffic in town then take the exit near kickstand campground and then a dirt road that leads right up to the huge Buffalo Chip sign. Look it up on your phone. Don't forget your ear plugs. Loud pipes might save lives but they murder your eardrums, haha."
