"A great getaway just outside Bend. The lake has great views of the surrounding mountain tops. The trail that circles the lake is easy to navigate and offers views all over the lake. Make sure to bring your mosquito spray as there are quite a few in the summer months. Parking can be challenging during the busy season, and the road in and out is pretty rough with all the potholes. Worth every bump to see this beautiful location."

"Beautiful lake and wildflowers! And great views of the local mountains. The trail around the lake is a couple of miles long. It's mostly dirt with some areas of boardwalks over swampy land. We visited in July. Highly recommend! Also, keep in mind that the elevation makes this area cooler than you might expect in the summer. Check the local temperature before heading over."

"This is a great place for a hike. I’ve been there in the past. My last visit wasn’t quite so pleasant because of the extensive amount of snow on the ground in mid June. I’ll plan to come back toward August."
