Whatever the case, it's a very accessible attraction and a great place to take a break on your drive between Portland and Bend! *The lake is about a 1.5 hour drive fro...

It's a top spot for paddleboarding and fishing, though parking and crowds can be challenging during peak times. Many recommend arriving early to fully enjoy its serene beauty.

"This was our first visit, but it won't be our last! We had such a great time kayaking. We were out almost 3 hours. Everyone on the lake was so pleasant. So fun to see everyone enjoying the day!"

Lisa Phay

"Hosmer lake is so beautiful! If you kayak all the way to the end you can sit and eat lunch by a small waterfall. The water is so clear that you can see fish swimming underneath you and the views of the mountains are beyond stunning. I recommend going early; we usually get there around 6:30am so we can have the lake mostly to ourselves, as the lake and parking lot can get quite crowded later in the day. Also, make sure you have a recreation pass as they are required."

Samantha Brooks

"Parking can be tight but a beautiful lake - worth the drive!"
