What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Topsail Island Skating Rink's wonderfully nostalgic atmosphere and real wood floors, calling it an essential part of any Topsail Beach vacation. The family-friendly vibe, reasonable prices, and fun games are frequently praised. Some note the lack of air conditioning and the preference for cash, but these are generally seen as minor points in an otherwise highly recommended experience.
"Finally made it to the rink this year! We're late comers so we usually miss open season (they close up shop around Labor Day weekend), but this year we made a point to go the first night we were down at the beach. Did not disappoint, from the vintage vibes to the family-friendly atmosphere, we had a great time. Super cool seeing all examples of skates from all the decades they've been open. 10/10 would recommend."

"We had a wonderful time here. The guys running everything were very informed and told us the history of the place as well as some of the history of the area. Music choices were great, nothing inappropriate for my kids which I really appreciate. Lots of fans keep things cool and comfortable. Glad we made the time to go and my kids are already begging to go back."

"It's not much of a beach vacation if you do not make time to visit the Topsail Beach Skating Rink one night (or two!) during your stay. To say it's nostalgic is an understatement. Old school wood floors, reasonable skate rental prices (I think cash is king), fun group games for prizes, I believe they do sell some snacks and drinks(?). No A/C so come prepared to sweat a little. Don't worry, plenty of fans to circulate the summer air. Skaters range from mostly beginners to pretty advanced, so don't feel like you'll be in the way if you're hugging the rail- many do. The music is a little more updated than years past when we skated to oldies from 45's. ( I miss them a little.) Bottom line; your thighs will scream and hate you, but the kids will remember Topsail Beach Skating Rink as one of their favorite beach memories. See you in a couple weeks!"
