Any decent Swimming Spot along Highway 80 to Reno? A good spot to stop to enjoy the view and get out feet wet?
From which direction? If you're coming from the west, you can stop at Donner lake or any of the many small and big lakes in the Truckee area (including Tahoe of course if you have a bit more time). These are not going to be warm though, but definitely scenic.

"Pretty small but a lot of good interpretative signage. Didn’t realize there were several other trails leading of the loop which I’ll have to check out more later."

"A fab picnic area! Although a strict vegetarian, I was enthusiastic to picnic here as the Donner Party originally did in the mid-nineteenth century. In homage to their seminal feed, I brought lady fingers, ears (of corn) and nuts. The menu was all to die for!"
Will44 Sherman
"Nice 1/3 mile interpretive walk. In addition to the Donner info, it is a beautiful meadow. Note that the Donner party was several families. Of the 89 people 24, of the Donners camped here. The other families camped by Donner Lake about 5 miles away. Donner Lake also has a center to visit and the Donner Lake area is where the inappropriate feasting took place."
