"The Henry Knox Headquarters is a nice historic site to visit in the Hudson Valley. During the Revolutionary War American General Henry Knox was billeted in the home, which belonged to the Ellison’s. The house itself is historic and was built in the 18th century. Tours are offered on the top of the hour and are educational and informational.
On the property there is also a nice nature trail along the Silver Stream. The trail contains what might be NY State’s oldest bridge. Both a house tour and a nature trail walk should be done together when visiting this site. It is best to check the website or call ahead to see when it is open for tours. Best of all this wonderful historic site is free to enjoy for all!"
