What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the unique and unforgettable experiences at Moaning Caverns, particularly the challenging Adventure Cave Crawl and the awe-inspiring Grand Chamber. The knowledgeable and supportive guides are frequently praised for enhancing the tours. While the crawl is physically demanding and can be muddy, the overall consensus is that it's a highly recommended adventure.
"In a 100F+ day, who wouldn't want to be underground? There are two main experiences. One allows you to go down a staircase with more steps than I can count. This leads to a very large room which is worth seeing in person.
The other experience, requires guts and good listening skills. Bring clothes that you aren't afraid to get dirty or even ripped as you will be wiggling and wriggling through different obstacles. Gear including a head lamp are provided and the guides are very helpful but highly recommend you listen to their instructions.
I unfortunately could not participate partially because of an injury but I was with a group of three others who has a blast! Takes roughly 4 hours to do the cave crawling but it is an experience you will never forget.
They have bathrooms available and a sluice setup that it kid friendly. There is also a gift shop with AC for those hot days in the summer."

"This was the best thing I've done in a while.
Good:
- Super unique experience - you actually go all the way into the cave and it's pretty dangerous but we never got hurt
- The experience is so cool since we crawl at some point completely inverted and go through tiny cracks - there are optional areas too so it's like a choose your own adventure! Great workout and I felt like it was harder than a v1 climbing route
- The tour guides are great, super helpful and also keep us entertained as we wait for others to finish the climbs
- The end involved sliding down the face of a mountain - it was super safe but I had a "oh shoot" moment - talk about facing your fears
- I loved the history of the cave and learning more about the bone pile for example
Bad:
- It takes a while with a big group to get everyone through
- Pretty muddy and you can get a bit banged up in the process - not for the faint of heart
Overall so so memorable and I would recommend everyone go to this tour if you get a chance!"

"The tour guide was cute as anything and all of the staff were very understanding of people with fears. Not pushy, but supportive enough to push you test your boundaries. The cave itself was phenomenal. I've only been in a few caves before this, but this was hands down the most impressive one I've been in. Like something out of a movie or national geographic episode. They have a more advanced tour that actually let's you do a crawl tour through the litter levels of the cave, which is something I've never seen available before. I wish I'd have known about it and reserved that, because that would have been awesome. You could feel the passion for the cave experience from almost all of the staff that we interacted with directly. If you think caves are cool and aren't claustrophobic or afraid of the dark, definitely check this place out. It's a quick tour but has a huge impact of your make it to the bottom."
