Reviews Summary

McCallum Park is a beloved hidden gem, praised for its natural beauty, accessibility, and family-friendly amenities like a creek and shaded trails. Visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and the various recreational options. However, the park's restrooms are noted for their lack of ventilation and strong odors, which can be a drawback, especially in warm weather.

"This is a cute little park tucked away in seemingly the backyard of the outskirts of Hwy280. They have a creek that allows for fishing & swimming. The bridge that crosses the creek is wheelchair accessible. There are also a few trails that run alongside the creek. I did notice a few pavilions as well as benches throughout the park. The restroom is located at the entrance, but be prepared as there is no ventilation & the odor along with the heat can be quite overwhelming, especially with summer in the south. The playground & hammocks are located across from the restroom."

"♿️ This park is beautiful and accessible. The only thing truly missing is a trail map. Was unsure of which way to go. There were 2 trails and I was immediately drawn to the bridge and the woods. The bridge has ramps and stairs accommodating everyone.
Found another AED here on the wall of the bathroom. These are pieces of life saving equipment I wish every park or trail could include in their design.
I cannot describe the natural beauty of this park other than its situated half in the woods with the creek running through it. I do believe other than a few places along that trail you could get a wheelchair. The trails are wide, there are some rocky places, but it was most dirt or pine needles.
Now, under the sign that read McCallum Nature Trail, it is gravel. I didn't go there, but did stand at the entrance and saw the gravel. Saving it for another day of adventure.
Ran into someone doing Gross Out Camp and he allowed me to take pics of some of their finds. The moss on a log and the floppy fungi. (Thank you if you happen to read this!)
It is shady in most places and was cool even in the heat. It was a beautiful walk in the woods and there are pavilions and picnic tables along with stone fire pits for bbq's.
There is a huge green space for kids to run and play or your dogs, a play ground, several hammock gardens (which were Eagle Scout projects)one provided hammocks, the other you need to provide the hammock, there is a bridge an Eagle Scout built, two bat houses that were Eagle projects and the creek. It is quiet here and peaceful. It reminds you of all the natural beauty around you and you forget the outside world for an hour or two. What more could you ask for!"

"Super cool park, LOTS OF SHADE and plenty of places to let the fuzz kids dip their paws in the water or even swim.
The trails are a bit tattered but easy to navigate.
They have restrooms, a cool bridge that goes over to another side of the park which connects to other trails.
Great find and folks you will want to google this one as it's through a neighborhood, so you wouldn't know this hidden gem was back there.
Thanks"
