What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Charleston Tea Garden for its unique status as America's only large-scale tea plantation, the informative free factory tour, and the delightful complimentary tea sampling. The scenic drive and the opportunity to purchase American-grown tea are also frequently highlighted as positives. Some guests note that the trolley tour, while enjoyable, can feel a bit distant and that booking in advance is wise to avoid waits.
"This is my 2nd visit.
The trolley tour is a fun way to learn the history behind this unique place.
The free factory tour is quick but highly informative.
There is a large gift area with many nice mementos.
Don’t forget to sample the large selection of hot and cold teas also."

"First of all, if you want to be one with nature, definitely stop by. If you love tea but don't know the process, you can learn more here. But I'm warning you, don't get your hopes up. :) It's a small business, and I'm sure they make more money from the gift shop and the troll tour than from the tea itself.
The troll tour takes you to the tea fields, but since you can't get out of the vehicle, you only have to look at it from a distance.
The gift shop offers hot and cold tea. However, I'm not much of a tea person, so I guess I didn't like it very much. (I've been on similar tours in England and Turkey before, and they were much better.)"

"This was a great spot. We were in Charleston just for the weekend and we visited when it was pouring down rain. This is an activity that can be enjoyed even in the rain. The trolley tea tour was neat. Loved tasting the tea inside. Great gift shop and a free little tour inside."
