What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Pokai Bay Beach Park is highly praised as a safe, family-friendly beach with calm, clear waters perfect for young children and beginner surfers. Visitors appreciate the local atmosphere and soft sand, though some note inconsistent bathroom facilities and the occasional presence of homeless individuals.
"I brought my family here. It's a kids friendly beach with no waves and not deep enough for drowning either. The water is Cristal clear at the point that you can see your feet."

"Cool beach where the locals hang out with their families. I noticed fishermen on the rock wall jetties and the water was completely flat, making it a serene place for families and their kids to swim. Good bathroom/changing rooms, plenty of parking, and adequate trash bins. Also, just 5m drive from the 7-11."

"One of the best beaches in island for younger children. Very fine, soft sand. No waves, and the water is very shallow. There is a small playground and area for kids to run around.
There are only two bad things about this beach. The main problem is the bathroom facilities. The homeless have ruined them like every other beach on island. The second issue is you do have to stay away from certain areas as the crazier homeless sometimes take over until the cops remove them. It’s mainly on the left side of the beach, or at the bathrooms. If you stick to the right side, you will never have issues.
Even still!"
