While some wish for more historical context, the accessibility and free admission make it a highly recommended experience for those interested in history and cultural heritage. Reddit+1

"It's a bit tucked away by the golf course but definitely worth a stop to see. We had a hard time knowing which petroglyphs were authentic versus some of the more "modern" images, but I'd like to think at least some of them were actual ancient Hawaiian."

Natalie Neal

"One of the best and easiest places on the Big Island to see ki‘i pōhaku (petroglyphs). This large field of ancient rock carvings is tucked between a golf course and resort, yet it feels like stepping into another time. We walked here from the Hilton Waikoloa—an easy and rewarding trip. Bring water, wear good shoes, and take your time exploring the lava rock trails. It's incredible to imagine early Hawaiians carving their graffiti into stone. A peaceful and fascinating glimpse into the past."

Adam Rogers

"It was so neat to see these rock carvings up close and personal. Park at the gas station by King’s shops. You will see the sign across the street from the gas station directing you to the field. The walk wasn’t bad at all. Once you get to the field, it is pretty treacherous so make sure you’re wearing good sturdy closed toe shoes. We love learning about history so we had a great experience. We stayed for an hour. It was pretty hot so we should’ve taken water with us but to see history was priceless! This is a free tour."
