What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Memorial Bridge is appreciated for its scenic river views and its role connecting Springfield and West Springfield. While many enjoy the picturesque setting, especially at sunset, some visitors have raised concerns about traffic, roundabout navigation, and the presence of panhandlers. The impact of new urban developments on views and a unique mention of squirrels also feature in feedback.
"Beautiful bridge, connecting my hometown Springfield and West Springfield. I remember walking numerous times this bridge with my parents when I was a little kid. Now I drive over this bridge quite frequently. The only downside, is the roundabout that some drivers seem to forget how it works. Other than that, it's a beautiful bridge with a very nice view."

"All I'm going to say is that this a beautiful bridge with a nice view, Years ago we had a lot of people fishing here and generally people just walking and taking pictures, not anymore.
I drive by every single day, and now is full of very stubborn panhandlers, they start bothering people who are just visiting, and is very annoying to be honest.
I also saw an increase of car accident here, just something to keep in mind."

"I use this bridge about 4 times a day. Sometimes I even go over it on my bike just to enjoy the beautiful view. However, one thing I have noticed is that the city of Springfield recently put up the worlds largest parking garage approximately one mile down the road. When I ride my Big Wheel across the bridge, my view is now obstructed by this parking garage. Also, I have recently noticed a pack of squirrels that seem to reside underneath the bridge. I hope that the city can do something about this as they are creating preposterous havoc. These squirrels are unnecessary and quite frankly, I don't like sharing the bridge with them. If Springfield MA could so something about this infestation of squirrels, I would send them a flower bouquet in appreciation. Overall, three stars"
