The Greenbrier WV
Hi All, I'm 2 months out from a golf trip / bachelor party for a 4 day/3 night trip to the Greenbrier in WV? Looks swanky AF. 3-4 courses + the casino will be a great option. Anyone ever go here? What was your experience?

Planning a trip to White Sulfur Springs Need Recommendations
Hello! I am planning a trip to shite sulfur springs for my girlfriend and I in the beginning of August. Just a two night stay. I would love any recommendations for hikes, food, golf, or any other activities you recommend! Open to any suggestions. I appreciate it in advance.
I visited the real-life Whitespring resort (The Greenbrier) and took a tour of the congressional bunker
https://imgur.com/a/MAKs1St It was amazing, HIGHLY recommended to anyone who lives close or goes through the area. The game did an awesome job re-creating the resort grounds and interior, down to the crazy decor and carpet. There is also an actual bunker below it and the story…

Remember, photography is strictly prohibited inside the fascinating underground bunker.

While casual is fine during the day, many guests dress up for dinner to match the hotel's elegant ambiance.
I'll be visiting the Lewisburg/White Sulfur Springs area next week. Please check out my itinerary and feel free to offer suggestions!
Please let me know if there are there any places on my list that I should avoid or if you have any "must try this dish" recommendations for any of the restaurants listed. I was also wondering if there are any cool or unusual shops (thrift/antique) in the area that you'd…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests consistently praise The Greenbrier's stunning historic architecture, opulent decor, and the unique experience of its underground bunker. The resort offers a vast array of activities and impeccable service, making it a memorable destination. However, many note that the luxury comes at a high price, with significant costs for rooms, dining, and activities, and some areas could benefit from updates.
"We came for the bunker tour, fascinating, no pictures - worth it, but the hotel itself was stunning. My prior job had me in some of the most beautiful hotels in the world, but this hotel just floored me.
With everything going minimalistic this just spoke to my opulent side. They have all kinds of things going on during the holiday season. I really wanted to move from Vanlife to Hotellife for the season!!"

"The Bunker tour was interesting but probably not worth the price for other than the well-heeled people staying at the resort. The hotel is stunning. We were just passing through. I'd love to come back and take plenty of time roaming the halls and checking out the displays."

"What can you say about the Greenbrier but... Wow!
First the good news: From my experience, it's not uncommon when staying in a world renowned hotel's "standard" room that you end up disappointed with your stay. That wasn't my experience with the Greenbrier. If you're a person who loves to travel and experience truly exceptional/one-of-a-kind location the Greenbrier has to be on your list.
The location is incredibly beautiful, the hotel and the grounds (while old) are immaculately maintained. The hotel's restaurants are wonderful, and the service throughout the resort is over-the-top. Also, the rooms (at least our room) are excellent. In addition, there are a long list of activities available for adults, children & families (such as: hiking, golf, casino, yoga, biking, fishing, horseback riding, bowling, geocaching, croquet, falconry, bunker tour, etc. etc. etc.).
- Now the bad news: The Greenbrier is NOT CHEAP!! While you might be able to get a room during a slow period for a reasonable price (by Greenbrier standards) there are numerous added fees (resort fee, historic restoration fee, occ. tax, sales tax, valet parking, etc.) that are charged PER NIGHT. And, the excellent onsite restaurants are very expensive, as are any of the activities you might sign up for. So, it's easy to run up a large bill. In fact, if you read many of the negative reviews the hotel gets they frequently center around the fees charged and how much a stay costs. So the bottom line is, if you're someone who worries about spending money think twice before booking. If, however, you want a great experience and can afford it, this might be the place for you!"
