What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Redoubt Park for its historical significance and the opportunity for a good walk. The park offers both accessible paved paths and more challenging unpaved trails, appealing to a range of visitors. While some note its historical context is best appreciated with prior knowledge, it's generally seen as a quiet, reflective site.
"I give this 5 stars for the history. Its a 1.25 mi total walking to see a “redoubt” on either side. One side is trail-y not stroller friendly but gives a challenge & the other side is paved & wooden walkway. Nice signs to pull together history. This is a historical site that took me no time at all to see in under 20 mins."

"Nice park. One short trial about 10mins round trip and super easy trail. Longer trail (Tuttle trail) was about 50mins round trip and requires good amount of cardio and leg strength."
Andrea Stange
"Nice park but giving it one star because you need to beware if you're a male visiting by yourself that certain people may get the wrong idea. Evidently it's a popular gay male "cruising" area. When visiting the other day I had another man seem to be following me trying to make small talk while I was looking at redoubt #1, it became so strange I left with the plan to return later in hopes he'd be gone. At first I thought maybe he was just lonely and looking for someone to talk to. When I returned the man was gone so I decided to walk the trail to redoubt #2. Half way down the trail I observed what appeared to be a biological male in all black goth type women's clothing wearing a blond wig standing in the middle of the trail very strangely. I immediately turned around and walked back to my car and left. On the drive home it dawned on me that the park was probably used by homosexual men for sexual encounters. I got home and a quick Google search confirmed my suspicions. Definitely bringing my wife with me next time I visit so nobody gets the wrong idea, lol."
