Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Lake Marie for its beautiful, clean lake and easy, peaceful 1-mile walking trail, ideal for leisurely strolls with dogs. Winchester Bay is highlighted as the 'Crab Capital of the World' and a gateway to exciting dune adventures. Some note that picnic tables are weathered and parking can be limited.
"Lake Marie is absolutely beautiful. The trail is mostly wide and easy to walk. Keep an eye on your dogs, though, as there are a lot of different mushrooms growing along the path. If you're planning a picnic, I'd suggest taking a table cover and something to lay across the bench seats. The tables are weather worn, and you may get a few splinters. There's not a lot of parking."

"This is a beautiful, clean lake with an easy-to-walk trail surrounding it closely. I easily walked the 1 mile trail twice in less than 40 minutes, a nice leisurely walk with my dog who really enjoyed the smells and open nature. There are many spots on the trail to stop and enjoy the view. There's a small beach along the trail and a parking lot next to that area. There's an opening of the trail leading from the Umpqua Lighthouse Campground, where I was staying at the time. There are so many good spots for peaceful fishing!"
