What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Yahoo Falls being Kentucky's tallest waterfall and the impressive cavern behind it. The hike is generally enjoyed for its natural beauty and the unique geological features, though some note the trail distance and stairs can be more challenging than expected. The drive can be a bit tricky, and the falls' flow is highly dependent on recent rainfall.
"Restrooms were in excellent shape, recently cleaned and stocked with soap and paper towels. Signage could be better. Yahoo Falls is not .25 mile from the parking area as the first sign would have you believe. It's at least a mile to the falls. Don't miss the little trail leading downhill on the left as you walk towards where the stair access splits off the loop trail. There's a bench a little ways down. It's steep but a beautiful view awaits. After that we really weren't too crushed that it was too dry for a flow at the falls. There are 8 or 10 old but serviceable picnic areas along the approach to the parking area. Bring your bug spray!
Note that the last 4 miles of the drive in can be a bit hair-raising. The roads are curvy and hilly, yet we saw several huge trucks barreling toward us and taking their half of the road out of the middle. We made it ok, but stay alert."

"Gorgeous little hike. Nice to see the tallest waterfall in Kentucky. Make sure to head up to the arch as well. There are a bunch of stairs on the hike so take that into consideration. Restroom where you park. Cell phone reception spotty"

"Beautiful hike! Love that it was dog friendly and clean.
there was one spot where you have to walk down metal steps and we had to carry our dogs down them. If you go during winter watch out for ice above some of the paths"
