Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Western Cemetery to be a place of unexpected beauty and historical depth. While it's an active cemetery, many appreciate the serene atmosphere and the stunning panoramic views of Charlotte Amalie harbor, especially at sunset. It offers a unique glimpse into the island's past through its historic gravestones.
"On a beautiful Easter Monday, I had the honor and privilege to be apart of a special day with Saint Bernice Peterson Jackson, her family and friends, and community leaders. Thank you Queen for our predestined crossing of paths and allowing me to be a witness to your funeral internment. You are well loved on earth and in Heaven! Thank you to your great niece, Laverne, for welcoming me into your processional walk down main street and for introducing me to you. I knew my first trip to St. Thomas would be important and now I know that it was aligned for your beautiful soul to continue it's magnificent journey to the otherside. It is by no coincidence that I arrived to St. Thomas via a cruise ship, originally I was going to fly, but see the importance, because you first arrived on the island via a cruise ship at age 3. It was by no coincidence that my first island tour was canceled because I needed to be downtown during that specific moment where met. It was by no coincidence that at the end of a 6 hour island tour with an hour remaining, and while escaping the shopping tour guide and group in the diamond store to goto the 99 Steps, I looked up and saw your hearse passing while standing in Hibiscus alley. (Thank you to Osborne Kruythoff of Sint Maarten, for I know it was your direction to go left with the processional and not follow the GPS towards the right to the 99 Steps.) It was by no coincidence that I wore the new green outfit that I was guided to wear on that specific day which turned out to be the same color you are wearing in your picture, the color of fertility. Indeed this is the circle of life. An ending such as death is just the beginning for something new. The ships have taken her home. Isaiah 60:8-9 - "Who are these that fly like a cloud, and like doves to their windows? For the coastlands shall hope for me, the ships of Tarshish first,
to bring your children from afar,
their silver and gold with them,
for the name of the LORD your God,
and for the Holy One of Israel,
because he has made you beautiful." It feels like I took part in a Saints canonization in Heaven where she is being celebrated for amazing service done on Earth. This "Saint" cruise has meaning and it's for you Queen Bernice Peterson "Daughter of a Rock" Jackson! Well done! Keep in touch! Love, Angelica"
