What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reviews for the Torre de David are starkly divided, often highlighting its unique status as a 'vertical city' and a 'tribute to socialism' for some, while others emphasize its extreme unsafety and dilapidated conditions. Visitors often note the raw, unfiltered experience it offers, drawing comparisons to fictional portrayals, but consistently warn against it as a typical tourist destination due to significant safety risks.
"Room service was slow, I wouldn't count on that at all. The mattresses were cardboard over concrete. That wasn't terribly comfortable but it made it easy to burn and take care of the bed bugs. When it rained, water only ran down the walls, none dripped directly on us and the water readily drained down to the floor below.
The concrete construction does a good job of keeping the sound of gunshots out of our room so, once you burn your bed and replace it with fresh cardboard a good nights sleep is possible.
I realize I pointed out all the negatives but the price was right and overall it's a great tribute to socialism."
