What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Bidoup–Nui Ba National Park for its stunning natural beauty, diverse flora and fauna, and significantly fewer crowds compared to other Vietnamese attractions. The affordable entry fee and opportunities for trekking and camping are also highlights. However, the lack of readily available transportation within and around the park is a recurring concern, requiring visitors to plan their logistics meticulously.
"🚨 there are no taxis/grabs 🚨
we stupidly got a grab from Da Lat city centre to Bidoup National park for the waterfall hike. obviously when we tried to return to Da Lat city centre there were no grabs available. we googled nearby taxi services and TAXI LADO ĐÀ LẠT came up. unable to call (due to our sim card giving us only data but no calls), we arranged for the park reception to call TAXI LADO ĐÀ LẠT and arrange a taxi back to city centre.
MAKE SURE YOU BRING YOUR OWN BIKE or arrange and online tour beforehand, don’t make the mistake we did!
overall, waterfall is nice but quite small. what i loved about this place is its way wayy less touristy than all the other places, especially Lang Biang which is horrendous."

"If you are looking to camp: there is not much info online, but if you drive to this spot you will find the visitor centre. Here you can buy entry tickets to the park and be told where you can camp nearby. We were escorted by someone working there and it all worked well. There is also a nice 1 hour walk to a waterfall about 400 metres away."

"We went to the Thien Thai waterfall. The route is very straightforward, about 3.2km walking in total. Took us 3 hours to finish the trail. Very nice trail, easy to walk through. Better if you go in a sunny day. Not recommended for young children and elderly, since we have to cross the river at some point.
Ticket is 40k per person. Totally recommended. They have other trail for longer time (over a day). You can contact them for more info."

Navigating Transportation Challenges
To mitigate these issues, it's highly recommended to plan your transportation meticulously. This could involve booking a private car service from Da Lat, arranging a guided tour that includes transportation, or renting your own vehicle, such as a motorbike or car. Some visitors have found success in coordinating return trips through the park's visitor center, which may be able to contact local taxi companies. However, relying solely on this method without prior confirmation is risky.
For those seeking maximum flexibility and independence, bringing your own bike or car is the most reliable option. This allows you to explore at your own pace and ensures you have a way back to Da Lat or your next destination. Understanding these transportation limitations beforehand is crucial for a smooth and enjoyable visit to Bidoup–Nui Ba National Park.
Trekking and Trail Experiences
While many trails are well-maintained, some can be challenging, especially for those with young children or elderly companions. The river crossings, while often manageable, require careful footing. For the more adventurous, the park offers opportunities for longer, multi-day treks, allowing for a deeper exploration of its diverse ecosystems. It's advisable to wear sturdy hiking shoes and be prepared for varying terrain.
For those who prefer a guided experience or want to explore less-traveled paths, booking a tour is highly recommended. Tour operators can provide expert guidance, ensure safety, and offer insights into the park's flora and fauna. This is particularly beneficial for longer treks or if you are unfamiliar with the area. The park's less touristy nature makes it an ideal destination for those seeking a more authentic and peaceful trekking adventure.
Camping Amidst Nature
Camping in the park provides a unique opportunity to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of city life and reconnect with the natural environment. Waking up to the sounds of the forest and enjoying the clear night sky can be a truly memorable experience. It's advisable to come prepared with all necessary camping gear, including tents, sleeping bags, and food, as amenities within the park are limited.
While the park is generally less crowded, it's always a good idea to inquire about any specific regulations or booking requirements for camping, especially during peak seasons. This ensures a smooth experience and helps preserve the natural beauty of the park for everyone to enjoy.
