Reviews Summary

Hon Rom Beach offers a classic seaside resort experience with beautiful ocean views and sandy shores. However, visitors should be aware of mixed reviews regarding beach cleanliness, potential sewage smells, and resort-specific access fees. Some guests have encountered unfriendly staff and strict rules, while others praise the relaxing atmosphere and friendly service. Reddit

"A Complete Scam – The Dirtiest Beach I’ve Ever Seen

This hotel has completely fenced off access to the beach and charges an outrageous entrance fee just to set foot on the sand. Expecting at least a well-maintained area, I was shocked to find one of the dirtiest beaches I have ever seen—littered with paper, glasses, plates, and all kinds of trash. Absolutely disgusting.

This was the only scam I experienced in Vietnam, and unfortunately, it was at this hotel. The most shameless money grab imaginable. If you’re thinking of coming here, don’t waste your time or your money."

"We hopped in for a quick bite but the personnel could not care to take our order, despite us being the only ones in the restaurant. After waiting for 30 minutes, we left. Would not recommend."

"Don’t stay here. There are many other options when coming to Mui Ne beach. Choose elsewhere. Wow our first impression was the unfriendly reception staff, specifically Thu Le. We booked through Agoda and got a room with a pool/ocean view. When we arrived we were told our room would not have the pool view and we would have to pay more. We booked this hotel specifically for the ocean view. So we were disappointed travellers. Reception staff didn’t help. no smiles, no fun as there are so many rules. They must have a poor employer who allows them to be so miserable. We worked out with Agoda to pay the up-charge for ocean view. However, the check in process was long as they needed to see everything including passport and visa for us all, and no smiles while working through. Rooms are in need of upgrade, beds are hard. No smart tvs. Housekeeping comes knocking on the door at 8 am! 50k to rent a pool float for the kids. The stack of floaties is depressing. Most have leaks. To buy a ball or other toys again is more money. Smells like sewage is leaking from resort into the sea. Not relaxing with the smell of sewage. Lots of garbage along the beach. Pool is open 7-7 so no evening swims even though it’s all lit up. Lifeguard stares at you the whole time. No smiling only telling you what you can’t do the whole time. The pool left our hair crunchy. Even after washing it with good quality shampoo the children’s hair was still crispy. So many rules. Construction going on the whole time. Noisy saws and welding. Nowhere to sit or lounge by pool to watch your kids swim, the beach chairs face the ocean and can’t be moved up to pool area to enjoy while watching your kids play. Saw a rat running around by the kitchen. Or course cockroaches at night. Thu le is so unfriendly. Very strange she has a job in customer service as she is not good with people. It takes a lot to make her smile. Choose elsewhere for your stay when coming to Mui Ne. We ended up leaving early. Found better options in Mui Ne."
