Hoi An Old Town seemed like hell…THANK YOU REDDITORS
I’m so glad I trusted you Redditors when planning our trip to Vietnam and not social media or travel bloggers/vloggers. Thanks to you, we opted for about 2.5 days in Hue and practically eliminated Hoi An in exchange. I say “practically” because we’re here in Da Nang, and I read…

Things to do in Hoi An NOT tailor or restaurants or shopping?
Right now wife and I are in Hoi An. We had a few things planned before our trip but have had to move around due to rain. We took a walk through old town and it was nice, but mostly tailor shops or souvenir stores or resturants. Anything else to do for fun besides walking…

Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Chaozhou Trieu Chau Assembly Hall for its gorgeous ancient architecture and incredibly detailed craftsmanship, calling it a favorite spot in Hoi An. Many appreciate the friendly hospitality and the opportunity to see intricate artwork as a refreshing alternative to shopping. Some note its smaller size but emphasize the quality of the experience.
"Worth a visit.
Gorgeous Ancient Architecture!
Built in the 1800s.
There is a middle age manager who was really friendly. Love his hospitality!
Personally, this is my favourite temple in HoiAn"

"Not sure why this has so few reviews and does not show up properly on Google maps. Maybe there is a more popular entry under slightly different name. Anyway I really enjoyed this assembly hall. Others seemed unimpressed by small size but as my wife always reassures me, it's what you do with it that really matters. This is a meeting place and not exclusively a place of worship, but some of the craftsmanship is truly worthy of the best temples.
If you enjoy looking at something like an intricate carved panel or screen and wonder how much time and skill is involved, then I recommend this place to you. I put up some pictures as words are a poor substitute. It's a quick visit. Do it instead of shopping for ethnic tat you just don't need. Feed your creative soul!"

"The best place I’ve seen in this old town. The wooden sculptures are sooo well made that I kept being amazed even I did arts history and have seen a lot. Though some of the colour were wrongly repainted during their conservation, I strongly recommend them to every tourist here."
