"I spontaneously visited the Khai Hoan factory today. Upon entering the sales area, I was immediately greeted by a very friendly staff member who asked if I’d like a tour of the facility. Without any prior reservation or appointment, she spent the next 15–20 minutes explaining, in good English, how fish sauce is made. She was able to answer all my questions in detail.
Afterward, in the showroom, I had the chance to sample the various sauces that had been mentioned during the tour. I hadn’t realized how different they could taste – ranging from salty to sweet, and from mild to distinctly fishy.
Overall, I highly recommend a visit! However, I am giving one star less because the signage was rarely in English, and I feel like I may have missed out on some interesting additional information."
