What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise VCCA for its engaging contemporary art exhibitions, particularly those featuring innovative use of recycled materials. The modern architecture and spacious galleries are also frequently highlighted as positive aspects, creating a pleasant viewing environment. Some visitors note that the center can be quiet during off-peak hours, which can be a pro for those seeking solitude or a con for those preferring a more bustling atmosphere.
"The most disappointing experience ever. We paid 100k/ticket to see projections of impressionism / post-impressionism paintings on the empty walls... I'm sorry, but that's just CAN'T be a museum/gallery. And some "art" quotes. They pretend to be a contemporary art center, but that is just a parody. Don't waste your time and money."

"One of my favourite gallery. Always interesting exhibitions. Nice stuff and sometimes interesting activities. Go there every month for new experiences"

"Chiaru Shiota is worth visiting everywhere in the world where she has an exhibition. That being said, the 10 (ore more) boats all connected with kilometers of red wool wire is just super spectacular.
But: there is no signing from outside the mall to the entrance of the art gallery, 0 signs. For a high-end contempoaray art gallery I find that disappointing. Then a not very help full gallery assistant, no change of money, etc. I think she was super nice, but not well trained (not her mistake). Than the installation with the white wool yarn was very badly showcased. Cramped in a space with reflecting glass on both sides and badly lighted, not good. Very disappointing.
Then the space with exhibition texts (not in english, QR codes are not a solution to that, sorry) and video (with no English subtitles, why?) Had enough space for the white wool yarn installation, now it rather looked empty and not well used. Also this space was not well lighted out.
For a high end contemporary art gallery presenting such a high end artist, lot of points to improve.
Kind regards, Camilio (artist and museum professional)"
